Susan G. Komen Central Tennessee Honors Exclusive Pink Tie Guy Regional Leaders

NASHVILLE, TN –February 14, 2018 – Susan G. Komen Central Tennessee’s Pink Tie Party will be held at Jonathan’s Grille – Green Hills on February 22, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. (CST).  In the U.S., one case of breast cancer is diagnosed every two minutes and one woman will die of breast cancer every 13 minutes.

The Komen Central Tennessee Pink Tie Program features influential leaders who help mobilize, energize and engage audiences in the breast cancer movement through their role within the community, within their organizations, and through their personal involvement. The Pink Tie Guys are leaders who attest to the powerful fact that breast cancer is a disease that knows no boundaries and who bring a male voice to the urgency of finding the cure(s). The Pink Tie Guys are partners in the Komen vision to live in a world without breast cancer.

For the past six years, Komen Central Tennessee has honored local men as Pink Tie guys. “It is my honor to recognize these unique men who are committed to finding a cure for breast cancer”, says Patty Harman, Komen Central Tennessee Executive Director.  “Each of these men provide a unique contribution in our efforts to reduce breast cancer deaths by 50% by the year 2026.”

“Pink Tie Guys offer a valuable voice to the Komen Vision on so many fronts”, added Anita Stewart, Director of Community Engagement.  “Having their support is helping us reach a larger audience and save more lives!”
